Supernatural meets hypersexual in this collection of short stories by Polly Frost. Sometimes gory, strangely sexy, and downright fun, it's no surprise that the author is also a comic book writer. The plots are amusing, well-constructed, and full of fantasy. Every chapter revolves around imaginary depraved societies and oversexed characters, from the cop who rids the streets of addictive alien sex creatures only to become a junkie herself, to the teenage offspring of Viagra users who face a lifetime of scorn due to their insatiable libidos.
Despite their unusual nature, these fantasies are based in reality - making them easier to swallow than the average erotic novel that assumes women only want romance and seduction with their sex. This book gets down and dirty, capturing primal lust and depravity with unapologetic enthusiasm. Although some of the stories are predictable and underdeveloped, I was impressed by the level of creativity and twisted humor throughout the book. Frost's frank approach to sex and her willingness to explore the dark and bizarre side of eroticism makes Deep Inside a quirky and kinky read. © 2007 Nora Marlo Nora Marlo, pinup model extraordinaire, currently resides in Los Angeles, California.
