Questions arise when women, appearing nude in a woman’s magazine, are suspended from their jobs due to their nudity. The nudity in question relates to Sydney primary school teacher Lynne Tziolas, who appeared in Cleo Magazine, with her husband.
As far as everyone is aware, the nudity was not pornographic. The topical feature within the magazine’s sealed section discussed their relationship and while the magazine sits on the opposite side of controversy, this did not stop the Department of Education issuing a suspension to Lynne Tziolas. In a letter to Mrs Tziolas, peninsula education director Maurice Brunning said:"I refer to an article in the magazine Cleo in which your photograph appears accompanied by an article about your personal lifestyle." "I have concerns that this will seriously impact on your continued employment at Narraweena Public School. I wish to advise that your temporary engagement at Narraweena PS will cease from May 2.''
